Data privacy

VERSION 08.03.2024

THIS STATEMENT IS INTENDED TO GIVE YOU A QUICK AND EASY-TO-READ OVERVIEW OF THE DATA PROCESSING CARRIED OUT BY OCTREE TO ENABLE YOU TO USE CAROSTER SAFELY.

The information summarized here is detailed in the data protection statement for the Caroster service: available here.

HOW TO CONTACT US

You don't need to know the legalese to talk to us and get an honest answer from us, we care about helping you and protecting your business on Caroster, no matter how you formulate your request.

Just send an email to privacy@octree.ch and let us know your concerns in your own words.

HOW WE PROTECT YOU

Beyond our IT expertise, we are, like you, people concerned about their privacy and the development of a fair and equitable society. We do everything in our power to secure your data and ensure that it is not discriminatory or likely to put you at risk.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Making Caroster and its data protection practices available free of charge is a major investment for us, and in return we expect you to use the service responsibly, for example by not disclosing compromising information in the content you publish on the platform, and by only sharing a link to the event on trusted channels.

If you find a way of deleting, modifying or accessing data that is not intended for you, you are welcome to contact the live team.

WHERE DATA IS PROCESSED

All data necessary for the operation of the application is managed in Switzerland (Octree and Hidora hosting), with the exception of e-mail addresses, since our e-mail service (Sendgrid) is provided by a company based in the United States (Twillio).

Non-necessary data, such as service improvement data (Hotjar-Malte), website data (Squarespace - USA) or newsletter data (Infomaniak - Switzerland), are subject to optional and specific consent, which does not restrict normal use of the platform.

SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THE USA

These services have been selected by Octree despite the fact that they are based in the United States, because they meet our needs as a small non-profit company.

You have rights and the tools to assert them with Octree and the companies concerned, and we will gladly help you if you deem it necessary. Every process for exercising rights with these companies is documented at Octree and on their website, and their data protection policies have been duly analyzed.

TRANSPARENCY
