Why is Caroster free & open source?
Caroster is a Shared Mobility Commons.
Caroster is licensed under AGPLv3, which means that the project can be copied and used as you wish in any other project, but any modifications must also be released under the same open source license so that everyone can benefit.
Our motives
Don't reinvent the wheel
What we create is certainly not perfect and adaptations are certainly necessary. Suggest improvements or contribute, but don't start from scratch.
the project will outlive us
Publishing the code as open source gives us the assurance that anyone can take over the project. Even if we no longer exist.
Create & adapt
Take over part of the code or integrate it in another service, do as you like, as long as you share your work in return and under the same conditions.
